The 709 Thraex model from We Knives is a fantastic knife and, in our opinion, one of the best tactical folders on the market. If you prefer large, tactical knives for daily carry or know someone in law enforcement or the military, this knife would suit them perfectly. The gorgeous tactical tanto blade shape is outdone by the ergonomic contoured G10 handle creating a design that is both beauty and beast. This is an amazingly feature-laden knife for its price point—it really feels like every other We Knife yet costs less than half as much.
The 3.94" tanto blade is made from D2 tool steel with a stonewashed finish, blood groove, and perfectly jimped thump ramp. It absolutely flies out of the handle with little pressure on the flipper tab since it rides on ceramic bearings with a nice, reassuring thwack upon lockup. The ergonomic, aesthetically pleasing handle is made from milled OD green G10 with a liner lock mechanism and custom hardware. The slight curvature to the handle and perfectly designed thumb ramp lock it into your hand perfectly for extended hard use cutting tasks. Its size makes it suitable for use with gloved hands and the liner lock mechanism is very easy to access. The pocket clip, milled backspacer with integral lanyard hole, screws, and pivot cap are all 6Al4V titanium for maximum quality assurance. This is an excellent tactical design that can flex into an EDC role easily and effectively with a price point well below its quality level.
