Fallkniven S1 Pro
Search By Category
There are survival knives, and there are survival knives for the professional survivor. Fallkniven's model S1 has provided exceptional service for more than twenty years and thanks to their outstanding quality and durability, the S1 will continue to do so for many years to come. Nevertheless, the desire to strive for continual improvement has led Fallkniven to develop the Pro Series which takes the concept of the survival knife to unimaginable heights of quality. Fallkniven began developing this impressive knife in 2010 and five years later, they are able to offer a survival knife which sets the benchmark for survival knife manufactures the world over.
To put it simply, a knife is a blade and a handle. But if this vital tool is to remain strong and stay sharp, you have to add fairly decent materials. If you then claim to call a knife "professional", you take on a responsibility to the user to raise the bar above what is normal. Taking this responsibility seriously, Fallkniven has made a number of improvements found here in the "Pro Series".
The first difference is the use of laminated cobalt steel instead of the traditional laminated VG10 use in its predecessors which ensures a durable edge and greater edge retention. The blades are now thicker to withstand greater external forces and feature a cross guard permanently mounted to the tang. The tapered tang is now wider and thick adding to the overall strength of this knife. The Zytel sheaths have been redesigned to be more durable and better suited to the MOLLE attachment system. Each knife is also supplied with Fallkniven's DC4 combination whetstone, which offers both a diamond whetstone and ceramic stone for field sharpening. Last but not least, it includes a shock-resistant, waterproof case that can be used to store the knife or other survival gear.
